Update #7 ***Grand Commander *** - July 1, 2020

First, MANY THANKS to all of you wonderful people who listened to Skele. It has had the best first month of ANY SONG I've ever released. Every play, save, comment, reaction, all of it, means the absolute world to me.

New single!!!! Ok so the story with this one... a couple years ago I was mixing a band that was playing poorly. I was offended by the sound that was entering my ears. At the time I thought, I'm not going out like this. I'm not sure exactly what the feeling was, but at that moment, I wanted to be far away from where I was playing music that I loved. Grand Commander was the answer. Something that I could control. I can't control other people, but I could control what I do and what I put out into the world. So I held onto that, and anytime I was in a situation that my soul rejected, I thought to myself, put it into Grand Commander. This song is what was going on in my brain the moment Grand Commander, both the song and the project in its current form, was born.

Feel free to leave a comment on YouTube if you dig it, thanks for checking the song, and thanks for being here on this journey :)

Face a stage of mindless drones to see

A sad reality, a virus festering

Sickening waste leaves traces in my being

Rotten and diseased, filthy and unclean

Grand Commander

Now you face Grand Commander

Lightning streaks across forgotten skies

Absent from their eyes, nothing left inside

Endless painful wretched heresy

A reckless symphony, simply cannot be

Grand Commander

Now you face Grand Commander

Update #6 ***Skele *** - May 12, 2020

So last time I wrote one of these, the pandemic hadn't really hit. Feels like a lifetime ago. I want to send love and good vibes to everyone, this thing has hit all of us in so many ways.

Skele is a good friend of mine, and an incredible artist. He went through some hard time and I was there to witness it. It inspired me to write a song about him because at the time I thought, Skele is a superhero. So this is his anthem.

If you are interested in checking out some of his art, which I highly recommend, check out

Huge thanks to everyone reading this. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Hope everyone is staying sane and safe.

Update #5 ***Calm Down *** - Feb 19, 2020

Here it is, the next single. This won't be out on Spotify/streaming services for a few weeks, so this is the time where you get exclusive early access. The video is unlisted on youtube, which means anyone with the link can see it. So if you want to share, go for it. It just won't be public until the song hits streaming services.

Thoughts on the song. It's weird because it's kind of a sad song but also is the answer. The song came from being overwhelmed by technology, and the effect it has on real life social interaction. But the song itself is written as kind of a meditation. So what's the one thing I could tell myself to deal with the constant stream of information. CALM DOWN. Breathe. Meditate. The song is a meditation, sorting through the various forms of information overload, and the answer is to calm down. That could mean turning the phone off, taking a walk, breathing, meditation, whatever you do to decompress... do that.

The ability to connect to anyone anywhere in the world at any time is a gift, and I've found much joy in connecting through music. That's the upside. The downside is when I find myself texting while I'm eating with my parents or wondering if a close friend is even listening to me speak. We all see it countless times every day. So my solution is to remind myself to calm down. We're here now. Phones make it easy to forget.

Finally, a huge massive thank you to you, the person reading this right now. I appreciate your time, and willingness to explore music with me. It means the world to me.

If you dig the song, let me know!

Update #4 IHDIAF Instructional Vid + MIDI tracks - February 8, 2020

So I'm getting close to the end of the life cycle with I Hope You Die in a Fire, and I wanted to make a tutorial video for anyone interested in playing it on guitar. Also, I've had requests for the MIDI files for the song. The transcription program outputs MIDI, so that wasn't a problem. Hope this helps, if you have any questions, let me know!

In other news, Calm Down has been mastered. Now I'm waiting on the Instrumental version to come back. Once that is received, I will submit to my distributor and in a few weeks it will be on Spotify and everywhere else. ALSO, I'm making a video, a live action I'm in the video video. Hopefully that will be done by the time the song hits the airwaves, that's the goal :)

Update #3 ALL TABS + THE EASY WAY - November 20, 2019

Thoughts on The Easy Way

So, I bought a vocoder. This is my vocoder song. If you are unfamiliar, a vocoder is something that mixes speech with an instrument. So I plug in a mic and my guitar to the vocoder, and it takes the notes from my guitar and mixes with what I'm saying. There was a specific vocoder, the Roland SVC-350 that I've been obsessed with for a really long time, and I finally pulled the trigger on it. So of course I had to make a song with this new toy.

Regarding the meaning of the song, it's mostly just about that feeling where the world feels heavy. Like fuuuuuck, why is shit so hard? And in those moments I'm like damn why do I make things hard on myself? I need to do it the easy way!

Stuck in a rut
Trapped in a box
Behind a door
That's shut and locked
Remember it's okay
To do it the Easy Way
For once in your life
Do it the Easy Way
Take away my pain
Tell me it's okay
Teach me how to do it
Teach me how to do it the Easy Way
Why fall down on my knees to pray?
I can stand on two feet and say
At least for today
I'm going to do it
I'm going to do it the Easy Way
Nothing left to give
Nothing more to say
Ease your worried mind
And do it the Easy Way
Do it the Easy Way
Why does everything feel so hard?
I must learn to do it the Easy Way
Surrounded by love, somehow led astray
We're all gonna die and vanish someday
I need some assistance to wash it away
Can't keep it inside

Do it the Easy Way
Do it the Easy Way
Today I'm going the Easy Way
Do it the Easy Way
Let's do it the Easy Way
I wanna do it the Easy Way
Let's do it the Easy Way
I wanna do it the Easy Way
I wanna do it the easy way
You can help me do it the easy way
Together we can do it the easy way
Together we can do it the easy way

Update #2 - July 21, 2019

Reach The Moon

Thoughts on Reach The Moon

This song is about the feeling of wanting to escape from any situation that feels unbearable. Anxiety, depression, money troubles, whatever... anything that causes you to go to that place where you imagine building a rocket, flying to the moon, and leaving the world behind forever.

Once the album is released, Pilot Light will come next. Reach the Moon deals with wanting to be anywhere but the present, and Pilot Light is the crushing reality of facing it.

Update #1 - July 2, 2019

I Hope You Die in a Fire (unreleased demo)

So this is where the song started. Just acoustic, bass, and some scratch vocals. What's funny is the acoustic, hand percussion, and bass guitar all made the final version. It's an interesting thing about making demos. I've had to learn to always keep my guitars in tune and try to record even demos as if they're the real version, because there is something about the initial recording that contains the spark of creativity that's hard to get back later.
